Stardock Fences

Fences is a simple icon organizer that creates special boxes where you can store and categorize them in different sections: special tools, Internet stuff, projects in progress, etc. The boxes are simply grayed areas which you can customize to your liking by adjusting the color, brightness and transparency levels, and labeling it with a proper name.

You can then distribute those boxes according to one of the program's layout templates or create one of your own. Fences also includes a special functionality: a double-click anywhere on the desktop hides all desktop icons temporarily, until you double-click again to bring them back.

Fences is a great way to organize icons on your desktop, but it could be improved with some extra tools, like the ability to add new shortcuts directly into each box or the addition of themes to easily customize the program's appearance.
